Actionable Objectives
Review market trends for stevia.Explore the potential of stevia as an ingredient.Identify GRAS status of stevia ingredients.
Workshop Summary
Stevia is one of the hottest topics of discussion among food and
beverage companies. Several companies have recently introduced stevia-based
sweeteners or announced plans to do so soon. As marketers and product
developers consider all of the possibilities this no-calorie, natural
sweetener could offer, there remain many questions. First, what is the
regulatory status of stevia as a food or beverage ingredient and how is
it changing? Are all stevia ingredients now Generally Recognized As Safe
(GRAS)? Are all stevia-based sweeteners the same? What products are
already in the marketplace and what is being introduced? And what is the
real potential of this much-anticipated ingredient? In this
pre-conference event, we cover these topics and more, including market
forecasts, new product introductions, and product development issues. If
sweeteners play a role in your current or future products, this is a
must-attend event. Speaker Biographies Mark Blumenthal,
