SupplySide West Stevia Workshop Speakers, Topics Announced
PHOENIX–Virgo Publishing is offering the workshop “Stevia: Trends, Product Development and Regulatory Update” on Saturday, Oct. 23 from 8:30 to 11:30am at SupplySide West, which will be held Oct. 19 to 23, 2010, at The Venetian & Sands Expo in Las Vegas. Blue California, SweetLeaf Stevia, Atlantic Chemicals Trading of North America and GLG Life Tech Corp are co-sponsors of the event.
Lynn Dornblaser, Director, CPG trend research, Mintel International and Claire L. Kruger, Ph.D., D.A.B.T., CEO and COO, Director of Health Sciences, Spherix Incorporated will discuss overall activity in the sweetener market, including sugar, high fructose corn syrup, high-intensity sweeteners such as sucralose and aspartame and "newer" sweeteners such as stevia and agave syrup. Speakers will also talk about global products that include stevia, consumer attitudes about stevia and other types of sweeteners. The regulatory history and current status in the U.S. and abroad and scientific advancements in stevia processing techniques will also be covered.
