SupplySide West Palm Fruit Bioactives Workshop Announced
PHOENIX –Virgo Publishing announced presentation details for the workshop “Palm Fruit Bioactives: Science, Applications & Technical Advantages” taking place on Wednesday, Oct. 20 from 9:00 to 5:00pm during SupplySide West, which will be held Oct. 19 to 23, 2010, at The Venetian & Sands Expo in Las Vegas. This workshop is developed and sponsored by Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC).
The Nutrition Business Journal will present on tocotrienols, carotenoids and polyphenols in a presentation titled, “Market Potential of Palm Fruit Bioactives”. There will also be four presentations on palm tocotrienols including, “Unfolding Neuroprotective Effects of Natural Palm Tocotrienol” presented by Chandan K. Sen, Ph.D., FACSM, FACN, “Cardioprotective Palm Tocotrienol – Value-Added Ingredient in Supplements, Foods and Beverages” presented by Kalyana Sundram, Ph.D., FASc, FNSM, “Natural Palm Tocotrienol – Novel Ingredient for Double-Pronged Beauty Effects in Nutraceuticals and Cosmetic Products” presented by Sharon Ling, Ph.D. and “Bioenhanced Palm Tocotrienol – Solving Formulator Blues in Oral Applications” presented by Yuen Kah Hay, Ph.D., M.Sc., B. Pharma. U.R. Unnithan will present on palm carotenoids in a presentation titled, “Application of Palm Carotenoids as Natural Colorant in Foods and Beverages” and the Malaysian Palm Oil Board and a speaker from MIT will present on palm phenolics in a presentation titled, “Potent Beneficial Bioactives for the Supplement and Cosmetic Industries”.
