“The exhibit hall was abuzz this year and the aisles were filled with the world’s leading supplement, food/beverage and cosmetic/personal care manufacturers. I spoke with exhibitors and attendees who said this was the best SupplySide East in recent years,” said Peggy Jackson, director of publishing for the Health & Nutrition Division at Virgo Publishing. “Professionals from Cadbury Schweppes, Campbell Soup Co., Coca-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, Coty, Country Life, Dannon, Frito Lay, HartzMountain, Herbalife International, Hershey, Johnson & Johnson, Lancome, L’Oreal, NBTY, Pepsi, Schiff Nutrition, Shisheido, Vitamin Shoppe, Wyeth Consumer Healthcare and many more powerhouses attended the event.”

“We encountered some adverse weather conditions at the lush Greenbrook Country Club. Nevertheless, the well-attended golf outing was shortened in an effort to maintain the upbeat attitude of all attendees, setting the stage for a positive and productive trade show. Marco’s David Garner noted, “the unfavorable weather conditions are indicative of the current business climate but everyone adapted in an encouraging manner.”

New in 2008, all participants were invited to an INSIDER-sponsored Happy Hour on April 28 after the education program ended.  The Opening Reception, held in the exhibit hall from 4 p.m.to 5:30 p.m.on April 29, was co-sponsored by Kemin’s welcose and Food Product Design.
