International Probiotics Association (IPA), Virgo Publishing to Offer Probiotics Post-Conference Workshop

PHOENIX – In conjunction with the International Probiotics Association (IPA), Virgo Publishing is offering the workshop "Probiotics: Market Opportunities and Consumer Trends" on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 to 11:30am after SupplySide West, which will be held Nov. 11 to 13, 2009, at The Venetian & Sands Expo in Las Vegas. CHR Hansen, Danisco, Institut Rosell-Lallemand, Morinaga, Nutraceutix, and Wakunaga Probiotics are co-sponsors of the event.

Consumer attitudes and product usage patterns for the probiotics consumer, a demographic and psychographic overview of the emerging probiotics consumer, current research on probiotics’ role
in gut health, the “vehicles” or carriers used to deliver probiotics to consumers, label claims and other regulatory compliance issues, and much more will be covered.

Confirmed presenters include: Robert W. Hutkins, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Food Science and Technology, University of Nebraska–Lincoln; Claire L. Kruger, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer and Director of Health Sciences, Spherix Inc.; and Gregory J. Stephens, R.D., Vice President of Strategic Consulting, Natural Marketing Institute.
