Virgo Publishing Announces INSIDER, Food Product Design Scientific Excellence Awards Presented at SupplySide West 2007

PHOENIX —Virgo Publishing announced this week that the first-ever INSIDER and Food Product Design Scientific Excellence Awards will be presented at SupplySide West 2007, Nov. 6-8 at The Venetian & The Sands in Las Vegas .  Each award will be given to one ingredient supplier who has achieved remarkable research and technology innovation, and the awards are scheduled to be presented annually at future SupplySide West events.

“With a prestigious panel of food technologists and product development experts judging the applicants, this award will be significant in the food community, “said Bob Weeks, publisher for Food Product Design. “SupplySide West is celebrating its 10 year anniversary in 2007 and as the world’s largest event for healthy and innovative ingredients, it is the ideal place to recognize this  achievement.”

Ingredient suppliers with new ingredient/technology science, a new application, or any research-based breakthrough in ingredient/technology science are encouraged to submit an application for the awards online at www.naturalproductsinsider.com , for the INSIDER award, or www.foodproductdesign.com , for the Food Product Design award.  Applications will be accepted through July 2, 2007 . 

The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges comprised of R&D and product development professionals from leading dietary supplement and food manufacturing companies. The winners will be notified the week of Sept. 4 and presented an award at SupplySide West. The INSIDER Scientific Excellence Award winner will be featured in the Oct. 22 issue of INSIDER and the Food Product Design Scientific Excellence Award recipient will be highlighted in the November issue of Food Product Design. R&D, product development and science professionals from supplement and food manufacturing companies interested in participating on the panel of judges can volunteer at www.naturalproductsinsider.com/panel or www.foodproductdesign.com/panel , respectively.
