Stevia: Trends, Product Development and Regulatory Update Workshop

    8:30-11:30am

The choices regarding sweeteners continue to grow for consumers. Since the first stevia-derived sweeteners became available, numerous foods and beverages formulated with stevia have hit the marketplace. As the ‘all natural’ new kid on the block, stevia has quickly become the talk of the sweeteners town.

Attend this workshop to understand the science behind the sweetness and catch a glimpse of the future. In this rapidly evolving area, it is critical to be informed and in front of the market.

    Speakers will discuss:
    • Overall activity in sweeteners, including sugar, high fructose corn syrup, high-intensity sweeteners such as sucralose and aspartame, and "newer" sweeteners such as stevia and agave syrup
    • Global products that include stevia
    • Consumer attitudes about stevia and other types of sweeteners
    • The regulatory history and current status in the U.S. and abroad
    • Scientific advancements in stevia processing techniques
